Building Monuments of Enduring Beauty Since 1904

About Us
The business started out as Connerton & Anderson in 1904. In 1907, Peter J. Connerton moved the business to its present location. Peter, along with James Daley formed a partnership that resulted in the business becoming Daley - Connerton Memorial Co. in the 1960's.

In the 1920's the crane you see in this picture was constructed to move large blocks of granite, brought in from Westerly Rhode Island and Quincy Massachusetts. The blocks were then hand cut into workable size pieces to be used to create beautiful works of art.

This photo taken in the 1920's shows Peter and his co-workers. This team of artists would set the standards for the quality of work this shop would be known for, for years to come.

Peter cuts a block of stone to be used in one of his creations. One can only imagine how physically demanding and time consuming this job must have been without the aide of modern day tools.

Knowing all of these stones were cut by hand, it doesn't take a mathematician to figure out that it must have taken quite a long time to create them. The wide open space you see in the background no longer exists, as you will see if you come visit the shop.

Much time passed with no pictures or documentation of the business history. In 1987, the business was purchased by Richard Boucher and his son Richard Jr. (Rick). Rick runs the shop with his sister Dawn, making Rick the second longest owner of the busiiness. They have successfully maintained the integrity of the dream Peter Connerton once had, producing everlasting memorials Peter and James would be proud to have been a part of.

We would like to thank Connerton, Anderson and Daley for starting what has come to be a respected business in the community. To help us better tell thier story, we ask that anyone who has any pictures or information on the history of this business to contact us. We would love to fill in as many of the blanks as possible.
